Godre'rgraig Park

Godre'r Graig Park is located on Graig Road, approx 200m from Godre'r Graig Primary School. Officially opened as the Godre'r Graig Welfare Grounds on 19th July 1924, the Park was created by the local community on land gifted to them by the Ynyscedwyn Estate.

The Park eventually fell into disuse and became heavily overgrown. At the start of 2008, the Trust developed a proposal for the renovation of the park called the 'Unity Park Project'. The proposal was presented to the community on 15th September 2008 and was warmly received by the local community. The project sets out a range of improvements that involve The Arts, Environment & Conservation, Heritage, skills and learning and more.

6 voluntary groups have now been established to begin developing ideas for the park and put together a whole calendar of events, workshops and activities that will start to see the Park come back into a useable state.

One of the volunteers, John Donavon, has created a website and forum for the project which can provide more information, news and updates.
